The Miller House
The Miller house was built in 1898 by Peter Miller using old growth redwood from the Hume Lake region of Kings Canyon National Park. Sanger was established as a lumber milling town in 1888. The wood used to build this magnificent house was milled in Sanger.
In 2005, the growth of residential housing in Sanger was at an all time peak. Fred and Judy McNairy were concerned that this lovely bit of Sanger history would soon fall to the bulldozer’s blade. With permission from the property owner, Lennar Homes, Fred and Judy were allowed to ‘rescue’ the historic house and move it approximately 0.75 miles to their property. It took three years of work to restore and refinish the Miller to its prior beauty.
We offer a choice of two rooms at the Miller house. Each room is furnished with a queen size pillow-top bed, refrigerator, HDTV with DVD/CD player, and a jetted Jacuzzi style bathtub in the ball and claw style. Free WiFi internet is also available. |
