The Miller house was built in 1898 by Peter Miller using old growth redwood from the Hume Lake region of Kings Canyon National Park.  Sanger was established as a lumber milling town in 1888.  The wood used to build this magnificent house was milled in Sanger.

In 2005, the growth of residential housing in Sanger was at an all time peak.  Fred and Judy McNairy were concerned that this lovely bit of Sanger history would soon fall to the bulldozer’s blade.  With permission from the property owner, Lennar Homes, Fred and Judy were allowed to ‘rescue’ the historic house and move it approximately 0.75 miles to their property.  It took three years of work to restore and refinish the Miller to its prior beauty.

The Apple Blossom Room

The view from the Apple Blossom Room is the rose garden in front of the house.  The room has garden green floral wallpaper and comforter, lace window curtains and queen canopy bed.  The bathing room is furnished with a jetted ball and claw tub as well as a walk-in shower.  There is a separate water closet. The Peach Blossom Room

The Peach Blossom Room has bay windows which allows a wonderful view of the walnut orchard.  The décor is lace and peach blossom wallpaper and comforter for the queen pillow-top bed.  The bathroom is furnished with a jetted ball-and-claw tub (no shower). More photos...
